MAPS thanks our Members, Associates, Affiliates and Allies for joining the MAPS New York Iftar "Excellence in Leadership" which brought together Muslim Americans serving across city, state, and federal government for an evening of community, reflection, and connection.

Muslim Americans in Public Service (MAPS) thanks our Members, Associates, Affiliates and Allies for joining the MAPS New York Iftar "Excellence in Leadership" on March 10 at the NYU Rosenthal Pavilion on Washington Square Park. This gathering brought together Muslim Americans serving across city, state, and federal government for an evening of community, reflection, and connection over iftar.

The Excellence in Leadership Iftar featured senior incoming New York City government officials of the Zohran Mamdani Administration, including Sherif Soliman (Director, Mayor's Office of Management and Budget), Faiza N. Ali (Commissioner, Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs), Aliya Latif (Executive Director, Mayor’s Office of Faith Based Partnerships), and Ali Najmi (Chair of the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on the Judiciary) along with other City and State government officials including Dr. Yusef Salaam (New York City Councilman), Mamadou Siré Bah (Director of Muslim American Affairs for Governor Kathy Hochul's New York State Executive Chamber), Mohammad Mohsin Awais (Director of Muslim Outreach for New York State Attorney General Letitia James), Kashif Hussain (Deputy Public Advocate to Jumaane Williams), with many other officials in attendance.
