Muslim Americans in Public Service (MAPS) held a virtual panel discussion about fellowship pathways to Foreign Service careers at the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) on Thursday June 20, 2024.
The panel featured fellows from the following fellowships: Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Graduate Fellowship Program, Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program, Foreign Affairs Information Technology Fellowship (FAIT), William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security Fellowship, and Donald M. Payne International Development Fellowship Program. The panelists will give an overview of the program and share their experiences of serving overseas.This event is open to all MAPS members and the public and it was recorded. The event was moderated by then MAPS Professional Development Director and Pickering Fellow Mariya Ilyas, and featured Ramata Sow (Pickering), Sulaiman Toghral (Rangel), Jeremiah A. (FAIT), and Afshah Kharal (Payne (USAID)).
